Job Summary: The Buyer is responsible for ensuring production has the necessary supplies needed to complete production schedules in a timely manner. The Buyer is also responsible for maintaining partnerships with suppliers and negotiating contracts with those suppliers.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree in related field or equivalent is preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of related experience in supply chain is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work independently without constant supervision.
Must be able to problem solve.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.
Computer skills including Google Suite.
Must be able to work extended hours and weekends if needed.
Candidates must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug test and background screen.

Responsibilities

Review raw material planning reports for assigned supply category and determine if orders need to be placed or existing orders adjusted for supplies.
Make necessary adjustments to systems to gain appropriate approvals and sent off to suppliers.
Monitor inventory levels and make adjustments as necessary in order to make sure we have the right amount of inventory on hand, or on order, to meet production needs.
Resolve invoicing issues.
Partner with Research and Development with the sourcing of new supplies and/or new ingredients as needed.
Review inventory positions and production plans of assigned categories.
Make recommendations to the suppliers concerning order placement and/or order adjustments.
Provide forecasts to the suppliers weekly.
Provide documents/information to the quality department.
Actively participate in the Commercialization Process.
Other duties as assigned.
