Job Summary: The Buyer is responsible for ensuring production has the necessary supplies needed to complete production schedules in a timely manner. The Buyer is also responsible for maintaining partnerships with suppliers and negotiating contracts with those suppliers.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in related field or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience in supply chain is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Must be able to problem solve.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.
  • Computer skills including Google Suite.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends if needed.
  • Candidates must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug test and background screen.

Responsibilities

  • Review raw material planning reports for assigned supply category and determine if orders need to be placed or existing orders adjusted for supplies.
  • Make necessary adjustments to systems to gain appropriate approvals and sent off to suppliers.
  • Monitor inventory levels and make adjustments as necessary in order to make sure we have the right amount of inventory on hand, or on order, to meet production needs.
  • Resolve invoicing issues.
  • Partner with Research and Development with the sourcing of new supplies and/or new ingredients as needed.
  • Review inventory positions and production plans of assigned categories.
  • Make recommendations to the suppliers concerning order placement and/or order adjustments.
  • Provide forecasts to the suppliers weekly.
  • Provide documents/information to the quality department.
  • Actively participate in the Commercialization Process.
  • Other duties as assigned.
