About The Position

The Purchasing Buyer I is responsible for supporting the procurement of materials and supplies necessary for production. This role involves managing vendor relationships, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery to maintain smooth operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
2 years of experience in a purchasing or supply chain role, in a manufacturing environment.
Basic understanding of supply chain processes and purchasing principles.
Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems (i.e. SAP) is a plus.
Ability to make decision making, professionalism, negotiating skills, problem solving, PC skills, drive for results, championing change, pursues personal development, collaboration, cooperation, communication.

Responsibilities

Vendor Management and Sourcing (40%)
Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable sourcing of raw materials and supplies.
Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery performance, and make recommendations for approved vendors.
Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules under the guidance of senior team members.
Order Processing and Inventory Control (30%)
Process purchase orders and follow up on delivery schedules to ensure on-time and in-full delivery of materials.
Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain stock at required levels, aligning with production schedules.
Collaborate with the inventory management team to track usage rates and adjust purchasing quantities as needed.
Cost Analysis and Reporting (15%)
Assist in analyzing cost structures and market trends to ensure competitive pricing.
Generate reports on purchasing activities, vendor performance, and cost savings.
Support senior team members in the preparation of forecasts and budget analysis for purchasing needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration (10%)
Work closely with production, quality assurance, and logistics teams to ensure material quality and timely availability for production.
Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide updates on procurement status and address any material supply concerns.
Continuous Improvement (5%)
Support initiatives to improve purchasing processes, enhance supplier partnerships, and optimize inventory management.
Participate in training sessions and contribute ideas to enhance efficiency in procurement operations.
Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 Standards and CSR efforts.
