About The Position

The Buyer is responsible for handling all purchasing activities for MRO services and supplies, valve components/raw materials and finished goods. This position also coordinates and supports sourcing activities as assigned. (Job Levels: I, II, or III dependent on experience and demonstrated proficiency)

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma; College Credit/Coursework preferred.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; develop alternative solutions; work well in problem solving situations with the team; exhibit sound and accurate judgment; able to support and explain reasoning for decision making processes.
  • Understand drawings and material specifications.
  • Understand overall functions linked to Supply Chain including material flow, price negotiations, price analysis, supplier selection, and inventory management.
  • Extensive knowledge of inventory management concepts and strong ERP software proficiency.
  • Strong project management and analytical skills including ability to manage competing priorities with flexibility strong results/goal orientation.
  • Demonstrate aptitude for process improvement.
  • This position must be performed from the Corporate office facility based in Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate MRP planning data and parameters in the KFV ERP system for "purchased" items as applicable (i.e. supplier quotes, lead times, MOQ, order qty min/max, etc.)
  • Analyze planned order reports and provide timely release of purchase orders as required to fulfill work order production or sales order requirements.
  • Interface with the planning and production teams to prioritize items as applicable.
  • Create and release purchase orders to suppliers, review and monitor order acknowledgements and revision requests from suppliers to ensure timely and accurate MRP updates in the KFV ERP system.
  • Manage requisitions for MRP inventory and non-MRP (MRO) inventory requirements to meet organizational needs, production planning and sales requirements.
  • Monitor supplier open purchase order reports against planning/work order production needs and intervene as necessary to bring deliveries back into compliance with production schedules. Work with the sourcing team to resolve late or partial shipments with suppliers.
  • Identify and report opportunities and implement actions to reduce waste, shorten lead times and reduce costs.
  • Drive continuous improvement to all processes wherever applicable.
  • Adhere to and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
