About The Position

Chief Ethanol Fuels is seeking a Buyer to join the Chief Team. This position will be responsible for ensuring purchase orders are set up properly acquire necessary supplies, spare parts, and contracted services. Chief Ethanol Fuels, Inc. was Nebraska’s first dry-mill ethanol plant and remains committed to producing renewable fuel and high-quality feed today. The plant is a continuous flow Vogelbusch process.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED, required.
  • Minimum 3 years of shipping or logistics experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, documentation and carrier systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Order and maintain parts inventory to keep on hand the necessary equipment to maintain and repair the plant on a 24-hour basis. This is accomplished in part by reviewing demand and setting safety stocks based on historical data.
  • Build relationships with various suppliers.
  • Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts for designated materials and services. Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine the need for changes.
  • Track contracts related to repair and construction work.
  • Work with Accounting to ensure purchase orders have been properly coded.
  • Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.
  • Pick up shipments from offsite suppliers with a pickup truck.
  • Recommend process improvements for department.
