The Entry level Associate Buyer acts as a crucial link between manufacturing operations and supplier partners, ensuring material availability. This role involves analyzing ERP requirements, issuing purchase orders, monitoring delivery performance, and collaborating with suppliers to resolve issues and support cost-savings initiatives. The position is key in managing supplier relationships, tracking performance, and driving continuous improvement, requiring a strong sense of urgency, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or a related field
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with ERP systems
• Experience with purchase orders and inventory management
• Knowledge of machines and parts used in metal fabrication
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Issue purchase orders to approved suppliers to procure materials at the lowest total cost while meeting quality, reliability, and delivery requirements
• Analyze supplier quotations, select vendors, enter purchase orders, and coordinate delivery schedules
• Monitor open purchase orders and proactively expedite deliveries as needed
• Resolve supplier quality, delivery, and performance issues in collaboration with internal stakeholders
• Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with internal customers and supplier partners
• Analyze data and prepare reports; provide recommendations related to inventory levels, safety stock, and forecast consumption
