About The Position

The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing the inventory of goods and materials required to support the company’s operations. This role ensures timely delivery of materials, maintains optimal inventory levels, and supports cost‑effective purchasing strategies. The Buyer will evaluate supplier performance, negotiate pricing and terms, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Additionally, the Buyer contributes to process optimization, cost reduction initiatives, and the company’s sustainability goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a Purchasing or related field.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and inventory management principles.
  • Experience with MRP or ERP systems.
  • Ability to analyze purchasing data and anticipate future material needs.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings required.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time‑management skills.
  • High sense of urgency and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with industrial products or material management preferred.
  • Familiarity with production scheduling software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock to ensure consistent availability of goods.
  • Analyze historical usage and market trends to support accurate purchasing decisions.
  • Work closely with suppliers to improve delivery performance, reduce excess inventory, and increase inventory turns.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering to ensure purchased materials align with customer and product requirements.
  • Communicate order status, delivery updates, and potential delays to internal stakeholders to support on‑time delivery goals.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders.
  • Assist with vendor evaluations and support continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing function.
  • Perform additional procurement‑related tasks as assigned.
  • Provide support to the purchasing department as needed.
