About The Position

As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in sourcing, negotiation, and procuring of materials required by the organization. This position involves maintaining strong supplier relationships, optimizing costs, and ensuring timely availability of materials to support operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles in manufacturing companies.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and negotiation.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and tools.
  • Ethical and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate procurement of materials to support operations.
  • Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with corporate contracts.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors.
  • Keep management informed of proposed changes in prices or lead-times.
  • Run various purchasing reports associated with delivery performance, pricing, and other purchasing information.
  • Monitor open purchase orders and close out complete orders. Follow up and expedite delinquent shipments.
  • Stay up to date with market trends and industry developments to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Interface with Receiving and A/P to resolve pricing and receiving discrepancies.
  • Resolve rejections with Q.C. and Supplier and process debit memos.
  • Solicit and negotiate bids where appropriate.
  • Manage vendor scorecard and evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
  • Arranges for disposal of expiring materials. Review expiring materials with customers/customer services and follow up on action items.
