About The Position

The Company: Pacific Aerospace & Electronics (PacAero) is seeking a Buyer to join our logistics team. A successful candidate is committed to pushing the boundaries of technology, performance, and innovation. PacAero’s core businesses include an array of electronic connectors and housings for the world’s most extreme environments. PacAero is primarily located in Wenatchee, WA with a remote manufacturing site, Bonded Metals, located in Sequim, WA. Working together, we employ proprietary technologies, best practices engineering, and specialized manufacturing techniques to produce hermetic connectors and electronic packaging that perform in the world’s most extreme environments. PacAero’s products are hard at work in medical components, such as cardiac-function devices, on key aerospace & defense programs, in space and deep below the earth's surface. The Position: Job Summary Supports purchasing and materials management by executing routine purchase orders and maintaining supplier communication under AS9100 quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of purchasing practices and supply chain principles
  • Effective communicator with suppliers and internal stakeholders (emails, walk-ins)
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Abas, Epicor, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Familiar with aerospace documentation and traceability
  • MS, Excel, Power Point proficient
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Solid understanding of AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, and supplier quality systems
  • Intermediate-level technical comprehension of drawings/specifications
  • Effective multitasking under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Excel-based analytics
  • MS, Excel, Power Point proficient
  • Strong leadership and strategic negotiation capabilities
  • Deep understanding of aerospace compliance, contracts, and risk management
  • Skilled at supplier relationship management and technical procurement
  • Financially literate - understands total cost of ownership (TCO) and margin impact
  • Capable of managing high-dollar, multi-program supplier portfolios
  • MS, Excel, Power Point proficient
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s in supply chain, Business, or related field preferred
  • 0–2 years in purchasing, logistics, or related function (aerospace preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or Industrial Engineering preferred
  • 3–5 years of aerospace or manufacturing procurement experience
  • Bachelor’s in business, Supply Chain, or Engineering required; MBA preferred
  • 6+ years of aerospace or defense procurement experience, including contract management
  • Due to ITAR Requirements, all PacAero employees must be classified as US Persons and are required to show proof upon hire. U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 of the ITAR: U.S. Person means a person who is a lawful permanent resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or who is a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3). It also means any corporation, business association, partnership, society, trust, or any other entity, organization or group that is incorporated to do business in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as APICS CSCP, ISM CPSM, or NCMA CPCM are desirable
  • Advanced certifications (CPSM, CSCP, or CPM) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Issue, track, and maintain purchase orders for standard parts, consumables, and services
  • Solicit quotes, evaluate supplier offers, and confirm deliveries
  • Verify supplier certifications and documentation (Certificates of Conformance, material test reports, etc.)
  • Coordinate with receiving quality and AP departments to resolve basic discrepancies
  • Maintain ERP/MRP purchasing data and ensure traceability per AS9100 standards
  • Support supplier onboarding and documentation compliance (ITAR, DFARS, and flow-down clauses)
  • Assist with internal and external audit preparation
  • Maintain supplier status request
  • Maintain purchasing requisitions (MRO supplies)
  • Maintain vendor non-conforming products (RMA)
  • Help maintain ad hoc reporting
  • Manage procurement of build-to-print parts, assemblies, and services per engineering specifications
  • Evaluate supplier quotes for compliance, lead time, and cost competitiveness
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with approved suppliers
  • Coordinate with planning, engineering, and quality to resolve supplier issues
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics (OTD, quality, responsiveness)
  • Support cost-reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure complete and auditable documentation in accordance with AS9100 standards
  • Participate in supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and performance reviews
  • Develop and execute commodity sourcing strategies aligned with business goals
  • Lead negotiations for LTAs and strategic supplier partnerships
  • Conduct supplier business reviews and performance assessments
  • Collaborate with engineering on new product introductions and design-for-supply initiatives
  • Drive cost reduction, lead time optimization, and supply chain risk mitigation
  • Ensure supplier adherence to AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, and counterfeit parts prevention standards
  • Mentor and train junior buyers and act as escalation point for supplier issues
  • Support customer and third-party audits as procurement SME
