Buyer (Temporary)
About The Position
Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking a Buyer for a 4-6 month temporary assignment. This role is critical for ensuring materials, services, and equipment are sourced on time, at the right cost, and in full compliance with regulatory requirements. The Buyer will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support mission-critical programs in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment. Teledyne provides enabling technologies for industrial growth markets that require advanced technology and high reliability, including aerospace and defense, factory automation, air and water quality environmental monitoring, electronics design and development, oceanographic research, deepwater oil and gas exploration and production, medical imaging and pharmaceutical research. Requirements
- Procurement and negotiation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Buyer role
- High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities
- Purchase materials, equipment, supplies, and services in accordance with established purchasing policies and procedures
- Manage procurement activities across a diverse portfolio, including services, maintenance, repairs, chemicals, electronics, machined parts, semiconductors, and hardware built to government and company specifications
- Negotiate pricing, delivery, and commercial terms with suppliers
- Track and report on open purchase orders, late orders, delivery schedules, and supplier on-time performance
- Follow up with suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, or documentation issues
- Interface professionally with internal customers and external vendors
- Support continuous improvement of procurement and compliance-related policies, forms, and training materials
- Perform all work with a strong focus on ethics, compliance, and safe work practices
