About The Position
Service Minds is a fast-growing, multi-brand home services platform supporting leading electrical, HVAC, and plumbing businesses. We’re looking for a high-impact Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands how critical the right parts — at the right time — are to keeping technicians productive and customers happy. This is not a back-office purchasing role. You’ll be a strategic partner to operations, driving smart sourcing decisions, optimizing inventory, and building vendor relationships that directly support field performance. If you have procurement experience — especially in skilled trades or electrical supply — this is an opportunity to make a visible, measurable impact.
Requirements
- Procurement or buying experience (parts/equipment environment preferred)
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
- Comfortable working with purchasing/inventory systems
- Organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
- Able to collaborate across departments
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain/business or equivalent experience
Nice To Haves
- Skilled trades industry exposure strongly valued — electrical experience is a plus
- Procurement certifications (CSCP, CPSM) are a plus
Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for parts, tools, and equipment
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements
- Place purchase orders aligned with demand forecasting and operational needs
- Monitor market trends to drive smarter purchasing decisions
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess
- Implement inventory controls to reduce carrying costs
- Partner with warehouse teams to ensure accurate receiving and tracking
- Conduct audits and resolve discrepancies
- Build strong supplier partnerships
- Address delivery, pricing, or quality issues quickly
- Collaborate on lead-time and cost improvements
- Identify savings opportunities without sacrificing quality
- Analyze spend data and supplier performance
- Improve procurement workflows through automation and best practices
