About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer responsible for purchasing materials from suppliers at the lowest cost while ensuring quality, reliability, and urgency of need. The role involves studying market trends, interviewing vendors, and recommending sources of supply. You will solicit and analyze quotations to satisfy all requirements from authorizing source documentation. You will also monitor outstanding orders to ensure timely deliveries of quality products, following up to expedite shipments and deliveries as needed. Additionally, you will handle negotiations for any price adjustments and manage delivery certifications and invoice payments.

Requirements

1-3 years of purchasing experience within the manufacturing industry.
Knowledge of purchasing, procurement, and supply chain processes.
Experience with SAP and Microsoft Excel.
Strong negotiation skills.
Basic Microsoft Office application skills, with an emphasis on MS Excel.
Experience with ERP systems.

Nice To Haves

Currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or a related field.
Knowledge in weld process, mechanical and custom fabrication is preferred.
Experience with data entry.

Responsibilities

Purchase materials from suppliers at the lowest cost with consideration of quality and reliability.
Study market trends, interview vendors, and recommend sources of supply.
Solicit and analyze quotations to satisfy authorizing source documentation requirements.
Monitor outstanding orders to ensure timely delivery of quality products and follow up on shipments as needed.
Negotiate adjustments from price analysis, discrepant materials, surplus or obsolete materials, contract terminations, or purchase order cancellations.
Obtain certifications of delivery and conduct item delivery validation.
Check and improve payment of invoices.
Develop and maintain necessary records and files for compliance purposes.
Support the preparation of proposal cost data.
