Requirements

  • Experience in procurement.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience as a purchasing manager or purchasing agent.
  • Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and inventory management software programs.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organization and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with large bill of materials (BOMs), specifically with 1000+ items.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the purchasing team, consisting of two buyers.
  • Research and compare suppliers, goods, and services to find the best options.
  • Select suppliers based on reliability, product quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory levels and business requirements to determine purchase needs.
  • Request cost proposals and negotiate contracts and pricing.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments.
  • Schedule and verify purchase deliveries, expediting delayed orders as necessary.
  • Build and maintain positive, long-term relationships with suppliers.
  • Resolve issues related to shipments, inventory returns, replacements, and credit arrangements.
  • Work independently within established procedures associated with the job function.
