About The Position

Thinkom Solutions is looking for qualified applicants to work with a team in the Supply Chain & Materials department and be responsible for Purchasing related activities. This position will be responsible for placing purchase orders, managing supplier open order status reports, developing and managing supplier scorecards, communicating regularly with suppliers regarding critical material deliveries, analyzing supplier pricing for optimal purchase order decisions, various materials-related analysis, and preparing and distributing weekly supply chain team reports. . The Buyer/Procurement Analyst will also be expected to help develop the supply base capabilities to support ThinKom’s quality and delivery requirements at the lowest cost. This role will require working closely with other members of the Supply Chain team and ThinKom’s Quality and Engineering departments as needed to resolve supplier quality and delivery issues. This position will also be responsible for keeping the system updated with the latest supplier updates/commitments, MRP settings, and supplier lead-times.. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a broad spectrum of suppliers and co-workers is a must.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years office experience within purchasing/supply chain or procurement related supplier management capacity along with analyzing direct purchasing pricing trends, recommending sound purchase order recommendations, coordinating orders and deliveries.
  • Experience in purchasing and procuring materials for an aerospace manufacturing facility (or similar industry).
  • Experience with supplier quality and manufacturing requirements for aerospace commodities (or similar industry).
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform necessary duties.
  • Technically proficient in MS Office products (especially Microsoft Excel).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using ERP systems (preferably Epicor).
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively work with internal peers as well as working effectively with suppliers and customers.
  • Ability to effectively present information in team meetings and design reviews, as needed.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written form.
  • Must have substantial reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work extended hours, as needed.
  • Strong analytical skills and solid work ethic.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and hold a US DoD Security Clearance in support of US Government contracts/subcontracts.

Responsibilities

  • Place purchase orders for system-generated requirements as well as indirect purchasing requests
  • Analyze quotes/pricing to determine and recommend optimal purchasing decisions
  • Communicate with suppliers on a regular basis to follow up on delivery status of open/late purchase orders, request quotes, price negotiations, lead time validation, etc.
  • Strong analytical skillset to support analysis of various materials-related items (i.e. safety stock levels, cost variances, pricing trends, etc.) and generation of key reports reviewed by the supply chain team
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills to analyze data and create various reports (capable to perform Power Queries, Power Pivot, and dynamic arrays, macros, vlookups, pivot tables, etc. without assistance).
  • Prepare and analyze supplier scorecard reports to distribute to suppliers and work with QA to hold them accountable for corrective actions when required.
  • Analyze reports from suppliers to identify errors and escalate potential issues
  • Resolve various supplier processing and payment issues by liaising with accounting and the suppliers (as needed).
  • Create new, and revise existing, supply chain processes to accomplish best-practices.
  • Facilitate Supplier Returns via RMA process and issue replacement POs when applicable.
  • Communicate with suppliers and request missing paper work (packing lists, inspection reports, etc.) and RMAs for rejected parts.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate with co-workers to aid in satisfying both internal and external customer requirements.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements.
  • Basic PC Skills - able to use Microsoft programs and and Google Docs efficiently
  • Ability to multi-task, make decisions, and get things done independently.
  • Comply with Supply Chain and Purchasing procedures and AS9100 requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
