Location: Staunton, VA - In-Office Your Responsibilities: Ensure that company standard procedures are followed in connection with purchases of material and services Analyze market conditions and trends, explore sources of supply, and process requests for all products and commodities Prepare and issue purchase orders and requisitions, secure price advantages of quantity buying, compose and edit bid quotations, analyze bids received, prepare and monitor contracts, and outline performance standards, tolerances, warranties, and maintenance requirements within the purchasing department Follow up and maintain current and accurate database information, vendor lead times, open purchases, commitments, and shortages Update and maintain inventory maintenance within the software system Maintain data, prepare reports, and analyze information using available software in decision-making Study products usage, determine vendor from whom purchases will be made, place orders, negotiate and renew contracts, investigate complaints, and secure adjustments Resolve vendor quality issues and track and document results and vendor performance Initiate quality programs that benefit vendor relationships while improving the quality for the customer Provide technical support and conduct training for staff Mentor and provide guidance to Buyers I and II Your Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Your Benefits: Daikin Applied offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: Multiple medical insurance plan options + dental and vision insurance 401K retirement plan with employer match Paid time off and company paid holidays Paid sick time in accordance with the federal, state and local law Tuition Reimbursement after 6 months of continuous service Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position. The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $66,000 to $108,800 in VA. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 4-6 years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that company standard procedures are followed in connection with purchases of material and services
  • Analyze market conditions and trends, explore sources of supply, and process requests for all products and commodities
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and requisitions, secure price advantages of quantity buying, compose and edit bid quotations, analyze bids received, prepare and monitor contracts, and outline performance standards, tolerances, warranties, and maintenance requirements within the purchasing department
  • Follow up and maintain current and accurate database information, vendor lead times, open purchases, commitments, and shortages
  • Update and maintain inventory maintenance within the software system
  • Maintain data, prepare reports, and analyze information using available software in decision-making
