Qualifies vendors, evaluates bids, and negotiates pricing and terms for purchased goods or services. Requirements

Minimum of four years’ experience in procurement or supply chain in manufacturing environment.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem solving abilities.
Expertise in ERP systems, contract negotiations, strategic sourcing to manage costs.
Knowledge of procurement practices and procedures in a relevant supply chain, purchasing, materials, manufacturing environment
Strong computer literacy (MS Office)
Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or four years relevant experience with significant, progressive experience in purchasing or materials control.

Responsibilities

Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment and supplies in support of production needs per the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) or requisition system and recommends stock reorder points
Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable supplier(s)
Validates purchase order confirmation
Establishes and maintains effective relationships with suppliers
Resolves issues with rejections, certifications, delivery commitments, invoice discrepancies and other documentation problems
Expedites delivery of critical items as required
Perform other related duties as assigned
