Your health and safety are our number one priority, and we will do our best to accommodate within reason. ---------------------------------------- ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: The primary purpose of this position is to assure the correct materials are available for production in a timely fashion, meeting the appropriate specifications, at a competitive price. Additionally, this role will be responsible for conducting RFQs when appropriate and recommending optimal supply partnerships to support company goals and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Knowledgeable of ingredients including flavors, colors, distillates, extracts, dry and liquid materials, and other food-grade items used in the production of finished goods.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of suppliers.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable and experienced with making judgment calls and handling confidential information.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Experienced in working independently, yet able to work within a team.
  • Exhibits professionalism and good interpersonal skills.
  • Experienced in handling documentation and keeping appropriate departments apprised of any problems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Familiarity with ERP system.
  • English comprehension including speaking, reading, and writing is required for our business's necessity to ensure a safe and effective work environment.
  • Trade School or Associate degree is a minimum requirement.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a similar position is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties pertaining to ingredient buying for the company’s production of AZ business, current and new aseptic customers to include negotiating prices and assuring all materials are shipped in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with R&D to deliver samples and develop alternate supply sources for optimal costing and supply continuity.
  • Participate in cross-functional company meetings as needed as the Purchasing Department representative.
  • Update and maintain ERP system information to include new parts and bill of material data entry.
  • Manage and address the status of late orders.
  • Practice cost-saving initiatives such as but not limited to competitive pricing research.
  • Meet with suppliers and conduct on-site visits as needed.
  • Address supplier quality concerns with internal stakeholders and suppliers to identify root causes and corrective action.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
