Wherever there is a need for motive power, EnerSys offers the perfect energy solution.  Job PurposeTo perform the duties of purchasing Raw Material for all production areas of the   Warrensburg plant. This includes not only the procurement of materials but also inventory control and quality of the raw materials purchased. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assume department supervisory role during the Material Managers absence. Oversee the other buyer/planners to help insure that the materials they are responsible  are ordered in a timely fashion to maintain production schedules. Daily review the Baan ERP system to insure all material are ordered on a timely basis to meet weekly production schedules. Must interface well with Corporate Procurement personnel. Follow up on past due orders and expedite high use parts as required. Maintain accuracy in purchased materials.  React to and solve parts shortages/emergencies immediately Coordinate departmental resources to help maintain continuity of materials to support manufacturing schedules and meet corporate objectives. Maintain consistent communication both within the department and other departments with regard to assigned responsibilities.        SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Supervise buyer/planners on a daily basis and assume the Material Managers supervisory role in their absenceQualificationsCOMPETENCIES: Must have had previous buying/planning experience.  This position must have good inventory control and organizational skills to maintain paperwork and files. Requirements

  • Must have had previous buying/planning experience.
  • This position must have good inventory control and organizational skills to maintain paperwork and files.
  • Product knowledge including source, quality and logistics is a must.
  • Associates degree or higher and/or 3-5 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Verbal and written skills in English
  • Basic math and use of 10 key calculator
  • Ability to associate cause and effect relationships and determine patterns of activity.
  • Must have good attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, MS Power Point, MS Word, E-mail, and
  • Become proficient in the existing ERP System.
  • Must pass a 10 key keyboarding test demonstrate good phone etiquette.
  • Must be self directed, self-managed and perform multi tasks in the most efficient and effective manner.
