The primary purpose of this position is to support purchasing and procurement activities for a facilities maintenance and base operations support contract by sourcing materials, supplies, equipment, and services necessary to maintain daily operations.

Requirements

Three (3) or more years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or buyer experience required.
Ability to analyze pricing, product specifications, vendor quotes, and delivery requirements to make sound purchasing decisions.
Knowledge of purchasing practices, inventory control, and vendor management processes.
Proficiency with purchasing systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Public Trust background check or Top Secret government security clearance, if required for the position.
Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting facilities maintenance, construction, warehouse, logistics, or base operations contracts.
Experience with work order systems such as Maximo.

Responsibilities

Processes purchase requests for materials, equipment, supplies, and services in support of facilities maintenance and base operations activities.
Reviews purchase requirements and determines the most appropriate products, materials, or vendors to meet operational needs.
Obtains and evaluates quotes, pricing, delivery schedules, and product specifications from vendors and suppliers.
Makes purchasing decisions involving product selection, substitutions, pricing comparisons, and best value determinations.
Prepares and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policies, contract requirements, and procurement procedures.
Coordinates with site leadership, maintenance personnel, warehouse staff, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of required materials and services.
Tracks purchase orders, delivery status, backorders, and vendor performance to ensure continuity of operations.
Resolves issues related to pricing discrepancies, damaged goods, incorrect shipments, or delayed deliveries.
Maintains procurement records, vendor files, purchase histories, and supporting documentation in manual and automated systems.
Supports inventory management efforts by monitoring stock levels, identifying reorder needs, and helping prevent shortages or excess inventory.
Assists with sourcing hard-to-find materials, specialized maintenance supplies, and contract-specific equipment.
Ensures purchases comply with contract requirements, budget limitations, company policies, and applicable procurement regulations.
Builds and maintains effective working relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
