The primary purpose of this position is to support purchasing and procurement activities for a facilities maintenance and base operations support contract by sourcing materials, supplies, equipment, and services necessary to maintain daily operations.

Requirements

  • Three (3) or more years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or buyer experience required.
  • Ability to analyze pricing, product specifications, vendor quotes, and delivery requirements to make sound purchasing decisions.
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices, inventory control, and vendor management processes.
  • Proficiency with purchasing systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Public Trust background check or Top Secret government security clearance, if required for the position.
  • Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting facilities maintenance, construction, warehouse, logistics, or base operations contracts.
  • Experience with work order systems such as Maximo.

Responsibilities

  • Processes purchase requests for materials, equipment, supplies, and services in support of facilities maintenance and base operations activities.
  • Reviews purchase requirements and determines the most appropriate products, materials, or vendors to meet operational needs.
  • Obtains and evaluates quotes, pricing, delivery schedules, and product specifications from vendors and suppliers.
  • Makes purchasing decisions involving product selection, substitutions, pricing comparisons, and best value determinations.
  • Prepares and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policies, contract requirements, and procurement procedures.
  • Coordinates with site leadership, maintenance personnel, warehouse staff, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of required materials and services.
  • Tracks purchase orders, delivery status, backorders, and vendor performance to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Resolves issues related to pricing discrepancies, damaged goods, incorrect shipments, or delayed deliveries.
  • Maintains procurement records, vendor files, purchase histories, and supporting documentation in manual and automated systems.
  • Supports inventory management efforts by monitoring stock levels, identifying reorder needs, and helping prevent shortages or excess inventory.
  • Assists with sourcing hard-to-find materials, specialized maintenance supplies, and contract-specific equipment.
  • Ensures purchases comply with contract requirements, budget limitations, company policies, and applicable procurement regulations.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
