About The Position

We are hiring a Buyer for a large tech company out in North Reading! Great foot in the door for an exciting robotics project. If interested, please apply directly. The Buyer II role involves managing the procurement of materials and equipment from suppliers, including electro-mechanical assemblies, electronic components, PCB assemblies, hardware, and non-inventory items. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a demanding, yet collaborative, environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining supplier relationships and ensuring smooth operation of supply chain processes.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of data management and databases.
  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant field. Candidates with strong resumes and high volume scope examples may be considered with 3-4 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase materials and equipment from suppliers, including electro-mechanical assemblies, electronic components, PCB assemblies, hardware, and non-inventory items.
  • Manage supplier relationships and report key performance indicators to Supply Chain leadership.
  • Provide inputs to monthly scorecards and present procurement data during quarterly business reviews.
  • Plan material requirements, manage inventory levels, and manage schedules in the ERP system.
  • Communicate material requirements effectively to suppliers.
  • Identify supply chain material risks and monitor material flow transparently.
  • Collaborate with Planning to communicate supply chain risks and mitigation strategies to end users.
  • Develop efficient and accurate mechanisms for monitoring and updating open purchase orders, expedites, and delivery requirements.
  • Assist the Global Commodity Management team with maintaining supplier relationships, monitoring supplier performance, addressing supply issues, and developing new products and programs.
  • Resolve purchase order receiving errors and assist with invoice reconciliation.
  • Manage supplier returns, including non-conformance reports, return material authorizations, and processing MRB material.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead a cross-functional group to execute improvements.
