About The Position

At a Glance Legrand has an opportunity for a Buyer II to join our Starline team in Canonsburg, PA. This role plays a key part in ensuring materials are sourced, planned, and delivered in alignment with production needs while supporting strong supplier partnerships and healthy inventory levels.The Buyer II partners closely with manufacturing, planning, engineering, finance, and suppliers to balance service, cost, and continuity. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys problem solving, collaboration, and seeing the results of their decisions across the business.What You Will Do Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with assigned suppliers and internal partners. Plan, issue, and manage purchase orders for assigned commodities in alignment with production schedules and material plans. Execute purchasing activities within approved sourcing strategies, pricing agreements, and lead‑time parameters. Serve as a primary contact for suppliers and support performance monitoring, continuous improvement, and corrective actions when needed. Monitor ERP/MRP signals and exceptions, taking action to ensure material availability and data accuracy. Partner with strategic sourcing and engineering on product changes and transitions to manufacturing. Review inventory positions and buying signals to support service levels while maintaining healthy inventory. Collaborate with planning and finance to resolve systemic issues impacting material flow or working capital. Identify potential supply, capacity, or inventory risks and communicate mitigation plans to stakeholders. Support recovery activities related to shortages, expedites, or supplier disruptions, escalating when appropriate. Participate in supplier qualification, evaluation, and development processes. Contribute to cost savings, productivity, and corporate social responsibility initiatives within the supply chain. Lead or participate in supplier meetings and quarterly business reviews as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 3–5 years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience working with MRP or ERP systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across functions.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong planning, organization, and follow‑through skills.
  • Comfort analyzing data to support informed decisions.
  • Ability to adapt priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Problem‑solving approach that balances short‑term needs with long‑term improvements.
  • Interest in continuous learning and process improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business or business equivalent years of experience preferred.
  • Experience with Infor CloudSuite, SyteLine, or similar ERP systems.
  • Certified Purchasing Management (CPM) or similar professional certification.
