About The Position

A busser (or busperson) is a key front-of-house support role responsible for clearing, cleaning, and resetting dining tables quickly to ensure fast table turnover and a tidy environment. They support servers by refilling water, bringing out food, and restocking service stations, often working in fast-paced environments requiring physical stamina.

Requirements

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Speed and Efficiency: Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Communication & Teamwork: Strong communication skills to interact with guests and support kitchen/service staff.
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring tables are perfectly set and the area is clean.
• Availability: Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience: Often an entry-level position with on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Table Turnover: Clearing dirty plates, glassware, and silverware immediately after guests leave, then wiping, sanitizing, and resetting the table.
• Dining Room Maintenance: Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning spills, chairs, and booths to keep the area presentable.
• Supporting Service Staff: Assisting servers by bringing water to tables, delivering food orders, and restocking wait stations with napkins, cutlery, and condiments.
• Sanitation & Safety: Adhering to health regulations by properly disposing of trash and sanitizing surfaces.
• Closing Duties: Cleaning chairs, taking out trash, and organizing the dining area for the next shift.
