About The Position

The Bus Person is responsible for offering guests an enjoyable dining experience reflecting the high customer service standards of Shady Canyon Golf Club. The Bus Person assists food servers with guest orders and ensures all restaurant tables are presentable with clean china, glassware, silverware and linen. They must be able to anticipate guests’ needs and provide service before being asked. A Bus Person must maintain a professional appearance and friendly attitude toward guests, other employees and management staff.

Requirements

Thorough knowledge of restaurant operations including foods, beverages, supervisory aspect, service techniques, and guest interaction.
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with members and employees, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and to resolve problems.
A minimum of 2 years previous Food & Beverage experience at a fine dining establishment
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists servers in their set-up, service and clean-up tasks.
Serves water, bread and butter as guests are seated.
Assists in carrying food to tables.
Removes soiled linen and replaces with clean linen.
Sets tables with silverware, glassware and other items.
Cleans dining room areas.
Stocks servers’ station with supplies before and after meal period.
Collects trash from dining room, grill and other specified places after each serving period.
Dusts chairs before and after meals.
Keeps ice bins and buckets filled.
Cleans and stores child high chairs and booster seats.
Collects soiled linen from dining room; transfers to linen pick-up area.
Takes packaged take-out orders to designated area for member pick-up.
Folds napkins and bread basket linens.
Cleans up spills, broken service ware and attends to similar problems during service with minimal disruption to diners.
Assists Food & Beverage Manager and other employees in assuring that the club’s policies and procedures for serving alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
May assist banquet personnel in setting up, serving and cleaning up after banquet functions.
Polishes silver service items.
Attends pre-service training (line-up meeting).
Moves tables and chairs as needed for the next member and guest diners.
Re-sets tables at end of shift for the next meal period.
Assists with banquet and buffet setup.
Helps to maintain a fully stocked buffet.
Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
Employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the company as requested by the supervisor.
