About The Position

The Business Unit Controller plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of our manufacturing unit. This position is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, compliance management, and profitability analysis, which are crucial for informed decision-making. The controller will lead the monthly close process and provide analytical insights that drive strategic business initiatives. Additionally, this role involves managing inventory and cost analysis to optimize resources and enhance profitability. Ultimately, the Business Unit Controller will contribute to the overall success of the organization by aligning financial strategies with business objectives.

Requirements

Undergraduate degree in accounting required
seven years accounting experience dealing with full financial statements in a multiple location environment
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex accounting concepts.
Ability to effectively explain financial information and concepts without using accounting jargon.
Ability to read and understand financials statements, financial information, and audit reports.
Ability to write coherent action plans in response to audit recommendations.
Ability to work with general mathematical concepts such as the balancing effect of the double entry system of accounting, foreign currency translations, and the equity issues associated with multiple fiscal years.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to understand the effects financial transactions have on the various components of the financial statements, as well as the interconnectedness of the balance sheet and income statement.
Having an intuitive ability to assess the reasonableness of financial information, which usually comes through years of experience.
To perform this job successfully an individual should be proficient in Excel, have experience working with an integrated ERP system, and have a working knowledge of the features of Windows Explorer.
