About The Position

Business Transformation Intern Overview Waystar is seeking a motivated, analytical Business Transformation Intern to support cross‑functional initiatives such as M&A integrations, client upgrades, and internal system transformations. This role focuses on building playbooks, templates, and standards that enable scalable, repeatable execution across the company. This internship is ideal for students interested in operations, strategy, project management, or technology who want hands‑on exposure to how enterprise‑scale transformation work gets done.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate student (rising junior or senior); 3.2 GPA or above.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to turn ambiguity into structure.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to project management, operations, or strategy coursework.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, Jira, or Smartsheet.
  • Interest in consulting, transformation, program management, or operations.

Responsibilities

  • Help document and standardize Transformation playbooks for recurring initiatives (e.g., client upgrades, back‑office system upgrades, M&A workstreams).
  • Inventory and consolidate existing project artifacts into reusable templates and toolkits.
  • Support documentation of cross‑functional ways of working and identify opportunities to simplify or improve processes.
  • Gain exposure to active Transformation initiatives by shadowing projects and capturing lessons learned.
  • Assist with internal summaries, leadership readouts, and reference materials.
  • Contribute to a final capstone deliverable (e.g., playbook, toolkit, or improvement recommendations).
