About The Position

The Engineer II will provide advanced engineering and technical expertise in support of mining operations, with a focus on implementing and optimizing business technologies that enhance operational efficiency, analytics, reporting, and digital transformation. The role also plays a key part in supporting autonomous technology projects and applying industrial engineering methodologies to identify value opportunities. By leveraging value mapping, data analysis, and process improvement techniques, this position drives operational uplift and cost reduction through technology-enabled solutions. The Engineer II works with a high degree of independence, applying technical judgment and leadership to ensure technology initiatives deliver measurable business impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial, Chemical, Metallurgical, or Mining Engineering.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant engineering experience, with demonstrated responsibility for business technology, digital transformation, autonomous technology projects, and/or operational cost optimization.
  • English language fluency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and optimization of advanced business technologies across mining operations, with emphasis on data analytics, event escalation, and enterprise-level dashboards.
  • Independently design and deliver digital transformation projects, ensuring seamless integration of new technologies and autonomous systems into mining operations.
  • Apply value mapping and industrial engineering skills to identify operational inefficiencies, cost drivers, and improvement opportunities, translating them into technology-based solutions that generate measurable business value.
  • Support the deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement of autonomous technology projects, aligning them with operational requirements and business platforms.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of mining processes to identify technology gaps and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, safety, and productivity.
  • Develop, validate, and enforce technical standards, procedures, and best practices for mining technology and autonomous systems to ensure reliability, compliance, and performance.
  • Manage project lifecycles from initiation to completion, including data management, performance reporting, and stakeholder alignment within project management systems.
  • Lead vendor evaluations and oversee the technical integration of third-party digital and autonomous solutions, ensuring compatibility and measurable value to mining operations.
  • Recommend and champion the adoption of emerging technologies that advance digital transformation and autonomy in mining, aligning with long-term business strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, developers, architects, and engineers to deliver continuous improvements in technology platforms, business processes, and autonomous systems.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians, building team capability in business technology and operational analysis.
  • Continuously improve operational readiness by updating SOPs, testing protocols, and integration frameworks to reflect new technologies and lessons learned.
  • Oversee and refine user acceptance and integration testing to ensure system reliability and operational continuity for newly deployed solutions.
