About The Position

The incumbent serves as a working supervisor overseeing the Helpdesk. Responsible to design, develop, implement, and evaluate the overall strategy for effective Helpdesk services. Serves as a project leader as appropriate. Provides effective supervision to Helpdesk Operators.

Requirements

  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Must be willing and able to work occasional weekends and evenings as needed
  • Knowledge of operating system internals, file systems, functions of hardware components, and how hardware and software components work together to form a computer system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated technical ability to install, and maintain MAC Windows operating systems environment including Office application suite
  • Demonstrated skill to work independently and to prioritize and manage a relative number of simultaneous requests and to work on tasks which may not be clearly defined
  • Demonstrated experience working as a project manager / lead
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare IT, preferably in an academic hospital setting
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and motivate staff
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and/or combination of education and equivalent work experience
  • Ability to manage multiple medium to large scale projects with multiple stakeholders in a cross matrix environment
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization

Nice To Haves

  • Prior lead or supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese
