Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree (required)
2+ years of progressive tax experience, preferably in public accounting
Strong technical tax knowledge
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Excellent client communication and relationship-building skills
Growth mindset with interest in long-term career advancement

Nice To Haves

CPA license preferred (or 150 credit hours required to sit for CPA exam)

Responsibilities

Tax Preparation & Compliance: Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local business tax returns
Address client tax questions professionally
Handle routine tax matters independently, escalate complex issues
Client Engagement: Conduct client meetings for information gathering
Build and maintain strong client relationships
Identify opportunities to expand services across other service lines
Planning, Research & Consulting: Support tax planning, research, and consulting projects
Participate in ad hoc tax engagements
Project & Time Management: Monitor time and billing
Recommend billing amounts to supervisors or shareholders
Compliance & Professional Standards: Follow policies, confidentiality standards, and ethical guidelines
Adhere to regulations from AICPA, Tennessee Society of CPAs, Tennessee Board of Public Accountancy, and other applicable bodies
