About The Position

AEVEX is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own enterprise data architecture across: Our ERPs, Salesforce, Workforce systems, CLM platform, BI environment. This role will build and maintain the integration fabric that ensures data accuracy, governance, and reporting integrity across the enterprise. As a data engineer, you know that organizing data can yield pivotal insights when it’s gathered from disparate sources. We need a data professional like you to help our workforce find answers in our data to impact important missions.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in SQL and relational database management systems.
  • Deep understanding of relational and non-relational databases (SQL/NOSQL).
  • Extensive knowledge of coding in Python or Scala with a focus on data processing.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Knowledge of API development and system integration frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and database design principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Understanding of GovCon reporting environments preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Engineering, data modeling, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, systems integration, or enterprise applications support.
  • Experience working with ERP, HRIS, CRM, or financial systems in a corporate environment.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools and data orchestration platforms.
  • Experience with BI and reporting tools.
  • Experience with AWS technology stack (S3, Glue, Athena, EMR, etc.).
  • Experience with data and entity relationship modeling to support data warehouses and analytics solutions.
  • Extensive experience in the design, build, and maintenance of data ETL pipelines.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.

  • Cloud Development Certification, including AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Certification a plus
  • Information Security Certification, including Security+ or CISSP Certification a plus
  • Experience deploying analytics workloads on a platform as a service (PaaS) and software as a service (SaaS), including AWS EMR, Redshift, SageMaker, Databricks, SQL Data Warehouse, or Machine Learning service
  • Experience with distributed or parallel programming frameworks, including Apache Spark or NVIDIA CUDA
  • Experience with infrastructure as code frameworks and services, including Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Experience developing and presenting complex technical information for technical and non-technical audiences and senior leaders
  • Experience developing and deploying large-scale batch and stream analytics pipelines
  • Experience working with integrated groups comprised of customer success managers, infrastructure engineers, data scientists, and software engineers
  • Experience with DoD information systems

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to support reporting, analytics, and operational needs.
  • Integrate and manage data across enterprise systems such as ERP, HRIS, CRM, and financial platforms.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality through validation, monitoring, and governance best practices.
  • Build and optimize data models to support dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical data solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data integration and system interface issues.
  • Document system architecture, data flows, business rules, and integration logic.
  • Support system upgrades, implementations, and enhancements by ensuring data architecture alignment.
  • Develop and maintain APIs or other integration mechanisms between business systems.
  • Establish and maintain data security standards and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Support financial audit readiness and compliance reporting and data lake extraction requests.
  • Enable advanced analytics and AI initiatives
  • Perform other duties as required.
