About The Position

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) serves as the primary liaison between business users and the development team. In this role, the BSA collaborates with stakeholders to identify solutions for business challenges. The BSA is responsible for analyzing business processes and user needs to create detailed system requirements for the development team. Additionally, the BSA facilitates the testing of software programs to ensure they meet user requirements and conform to established standards.

Requirements

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Clear, concise oral and written communication skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
• Self-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision, including ability to deliver on projects with incomplete data
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
• Adept at multitasking and handling multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines
• Property & Casualty Insurance experience
• Associate degree or equivalent education required; Bachelor degree preferred
• 2+ years’ experience in IT field or 1+ year’s experience in Property & Casualty field required
• To foster Exzeo’s commitment to creating a collaborative work environment, remote workers will be required to report to a central office location for one week every quarter for collaboration, team building, and educational exercises.

Nice To Haves

• Experience writing SQL Server and/or Mongo queries preferred
• Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) methodologies and documentation preferred
• Familiar with Agile software development preferred
• Jira and Confluence (or equivalent software) experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the key stakeholders and software developers to define and implement the software project
• Gather requirements and evaluate alternatives
• Create detailed requirement specifications/use cases for the development team
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes
• Facilitate and assist in User Acceptance Testing
• Lead meetings, document notes, and ensure follow up of action items
• Work closely with the Product Manager/Sr BSA to prioritize development efforts based on business needs
• Work with development and QA teams to meet project schedules
• Follow up, investigate, troubleshoot and resolve production support incidents
