About The Position

Scope of Position: The Business Services Representative (BSR) is a position dedicated to promoting work-based learning programs, available through the workforce development system, to businesses and increasing participation in those programs. Developing and delivering training to program staff, jobseekers, and businesses in the Southeast Missouri region. The BSR will assist with matching employers with suitable jobseekers while providing an excellent customer experience and will maintain compliance with Federal, State, and local policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, equivalent experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and document visits and contacts
  • Ability to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Must be able to set-up and lead meetings/trainings and participate in seminars outside the region
  • Valid Driver’s License and an insured automobile are required

Responsibilities

  • Market and promote business services available through Job Centers including but not limited to, On-the-Job Training, Work Experience, Job postings, Job Fairs, Tax credits and labor market information through phone, referral, or in-person
  • Develop relationships with the local economic developers and Chamber of Commerce authorities to provide timely services to new or changing employers in the area
  • Develop relationships with area employers to secure exclusive hiring arrangements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employers participating in training agreements, ensure satisfaction, help employers with required documentation, and monitor placements
  • Answer employers' questions on current programs, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations pertaining to the operations of programs so that employers have a single point of contact
  • Create informational materials, brochures, flyers, speeches, job fair booths, mailings, newsletters, press releases, electronic messages, videos, information sheets, customer testimonials
  • Plan media events and training events about agency services and special events
  • Provide on-going feedback regarding business hiring needs to Job Center staff to ensure businesses are matched with eligible candidates that meet their expectations
  • Provide consistent and comprehensive case management and necessary follow-up to ensure positive employer outcomes and goals are met as required by the contract
  • Learn and implement Federal, State, and local policies and procedures related to EDSI, WIOA, and other contracted grants
  • Develop a network to target potential business leads that connect and reengage employers
  • Represent EDSI at conferences, meetings, and targeted social functions as required
  • Work under the guidance of supervisor to implement the regional vision
  • Perform other duties as assigned
