About The Position

Overall responsibility for building business relationships with current, former, and new employers that lead to employment, On-the-Job Training, and Work Experience for youth participants. As the Business Services Representative, you will provide excellent customer-centered services designed to enhance and re-engage job seekers into the workforce, while working closely with the Youth Career Advisor Team to ensure that sustainable career opportunities are available for all jobseekers. This position requires you to understand the needs of employers, build business relationships with prospective employers, and identify appropriate employment opportunities for youth program participants.

Requirements

  • Customer service experience required
  • Must be comfortable making presentations to large groups of people
  • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Must be computer literate
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving records, and automobile required
  • 75% travel required between service counties: Lee, Chatham, and Wake

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Marketing and sales experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Create, generate, and submit job orders
  • Continually review business opportunities
  • Contact employers by phone or in-person and attempt to schedule face-to-face meetings
  • Perform initial and follow-up client visits as necessary
  • Develop and execute a marketing/advertising plan
  • Educate employers on Career Center services
  • Provide employer database technical assistance
  • Follow up with EDSI/NCWorks employees to ensure that client expectations are met
  • Develop a network for potential business leads
  • Represent EDSI/NCWorks at conferences, meetings, and selected social functions as required
  • Network at Chamber of Commerce and other business events to develop business leads
  • Enter employer information into all appropriate databases and monitor employer activities
  • Provide target estimates or goals and periodic progress reports
  • Understand and analyze local labor market information
  • Schedule face-to-face meetings with employers to provide additional support and strengthen business relationships
