About The Position

In this role, you’ll lead complex, multi-year programs that help protect Vanguard’s clients and strengthen our long-term, risk-aware approach to investing. As part of the Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) function within Vanguard’s Enterprise Resilience Office (ERO), you’ll play a key role on the Third Party Assurance and Onboarding (TAO) Program team. Your work will have cross-divisional and enterprise-wide impact, supporting Vanguard’s mission to take a stand for all investors through thoughtful oversight, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This position is designed for an experienced program leader who brings strong technical and financial services expertise and enjoys working across teams to deliver meaningful, measurable outcomes.

Requirements

  • At least eight years of related business experience, including experience in the financial services industry.
  • A minimum of four years of project or program management experience leading complex initiatives.
  • Function-specific experience relevant to risk management, assurance, onboarding, or related disciplines.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders and influence outcomes in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong judgment, organizational skills, and comfort navigating ambiguity in enterprise-level work.
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large programs or major workstreams within broader, multi-year initiatives that span multiple divisions.
  • Ensure program scope aligns with business priorities and that value and outcomes are clearly defined and measured.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by maintaining broad awareness of financial services industry trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory considerations.
  • Monitor financial, legal, and regulatory environments to ensure programs align with Vanguard’s strategy and risk posture.
  • Partner closely with leaders, stakeholders, and delivery teams to clarify requirements, priorities, and dependencies.
  • Track progress, risks, and outcomes, providing clear, regular status updates to management and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive effective change management and communication plans to support successful adoption of program outcomes.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships across internal teams and external partners, fostering alignment and informed decision-making.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with audit, legal, and control requirements.
  • Maintain sufficient technical and business knowledge to support program design, implementation, and oversight.
  • Contribute to special projects and additional initiatives as needed.
