About The Position

The Division of Information Technology (IT) strives to be a strategic, innovative, and best‐in‐class IT organization that provides a leading‐edge technology environment for students, faculty, and staff to advance the University’s mission, vision, and goals. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Business and Process Management team as the Business Process Technology Specialist (Technology Support Specialist I). Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Business and Process Management and in coordination with the Associate Vice President of Infrastructure Services, the Business Process Technology Specialist provides program administration support for key technology services, including Dropbox, TitanGPT, and other assigned platforms. The position assists in coordinating program operations, maintaining documentation, and supporting user-facing processes. The Business Process Technology Specialist also supports the division’s innovation efforts by assisting with meeting preparation, tracking tasks, coordinating communication, and helping maintain processes developed by the Senior Director. This position ensures that innovation-related efforts stay organized, documented, and on schedule. Additionally, the Business Process Technology Specialist provides general administrative support for the Associate Vice President of Infrastructure Services, assisting with calendars, meetings, and routine office functions. Requirements

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Relevant education and/or experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Under direct supervision, performs entry-level professional technology support duties to ensure efficient use and access of technology and information systems.
  • Provides customer service and support to campus users and troubleshoots problems.
  • Recognizes and analyzes trends.
  • Performs basic technology updates and tasks following defined procedures.
  • Project work is reviewed for understanding of professional concepts and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • General knowledge of information technology systems, applications, and networks.
  • General knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting and related technology support practices.
  • Organizational and time management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Analytical skills to collect and analyze information and troubleshoot problems.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, faculty, and staff to obtain pertinent information, communicate technical information to diverse audiences, and document issues and resolutions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team as well as build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Computer skills to appropriately respond to IT complaints and issues.
  • A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment.
  • A valid California driver’s license.
