About The Position

The Business Process Engineer, reporting to the Business Process Manager, is responsible for evaluation and implementation of the use of best practices for both manual and systemic processes throughout the company and leveraging both for maximum efficiency. The role is to improve distribution flow and other in-house processes with respect to labor ratio, accuracy, quality, productivity, and throughput with the objective of reducing overall costs and improving customer satisfaction. Fully utilize resources to increase distribution and operational efficiencies. This position works Monday through Friday, from 8am-5pm. Compensation for this position ranges from $85K - $110K per year, based on experience. Your Day-to-Day: Is a subject matter expert within our distribution applications as it pertains to usage in operations and will work towards continuously improving the leveraging of different aspects of the functionality within those software tools. Continually focus on the quality, operational business process improvement, and customer optimization during training and account analysis to ensure both Barrett Distribution Centers and the customer’s needs are being met Works directly with Barrett’s Customer Success, PMO, Industrial Engineers, IT, and the Facility teams to standardize documentation and network wide process efficiency Works directly with Barrett’s Industrial Engineers, IT, and the Facility teams on both customer specific and/or general process improvement projects. Works directly with PMO, IESD, and Facility teams to support new client launches by analyzing customer Work Instructions and leveraging appropriate Barrett Operating Procedures for a successful client launch Create, update, and own Operational operating procedures, work instructions, training curriculum, and training surveillance forms (OPs, WIs, and Method Observations ) Lead role in the development and implementation of new business processes and systemic improvements based on analysis Trains new and existing exempt staff on new and current technology and functionality deployed at Barrett Works in the functional areas of the warehouse with facility floor staff in the area of focus in order to determine current state and use information to assist in determining desired state/best practice. Utilize facility P&Ls and other key KPI reporting tools to determine process improvement projects at the customer level. Use available data to display baseline metrics and establish goals and a ROI to determine viability of project Leverage all available software tools and lean process methodologies to ensure maximum effect of project Document findings and report progress throughout project using presentation style (PowerPoint), written, and verbal form Other duties as assigned Travel up to 50% of the time to Barrett Distribution Centers Facilities Conduct work duties on off shifts to support business needs, as needed

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in business process engineering, production environment, training or related experience required.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred).
  • Must demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work well under pressure and problem solve across a variety of business processes.
  • Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines.
  • Strong emphasis on organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field strongly preferred.
  • 2 years’ experience with Six Sigma/LEAN manufacturing environment and with continuous improvement projects preferred
  • 3 years’ experience with Synapse or similar WMS preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of 3PL, Supply Chain, and Transportation, preferred
  • Proficient with all Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to adjust training presentations to skill set of audience
  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred
