About The Position

Responsible for strategic initiatives and providing guidance through the application of Business Process Engineering (BPE), efficiency reporting and analysis, and analytical techniques for value assessment and sizing for development prioritization as the business owner of new applications and process developments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Transportation or related field or equivalent work experience plus seven (7) years' professional experience in applied engineering concepts, technology, and operations
  • Excellent knowledge of the transportation industry with a focus on the modified hub system and inter-regional linehaul network system
  • SQL programming knowledge and familiarity with FXF database structure
  • Superb time management and organizational skills necessary to manage projects, prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals and respond to day-to-day functional needs
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office software and web-based applications
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to anticipate and identify problems and develop effective and efficient solutions

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate business process reviews, process documentation design, modernization and implementation of tools, systems, KPI's, and process implementation that enable consistent business performance optimization across key operational domains
  • Lead process mapping efforts as the relate to business processes, asset planning and gap analysis of existing processes, capabilities, tools, reporting, KPI's and operational applications.
  • Serve as business owner for IT application development to include documenting application requirements and performing user accepting testing for new applications, reports, and KPI's aligned to operational domains.
  • Support optimization efforts as they relate to business processes and asset planning and utilization, performance measurement, goaling, and reporting
  • Lead departmental and cross functional projects with responsibility for analysis of operational cost areas and SME role as a business owner for operational IT systems development and implementation along with refinement and development of reporting tools and associated KPI's.
  • Create and maintain a digital catalog of FedEx Freight's business processes to enable key stakeholders to efficiently identify opportunities and transform those opportunities into value drivers. Maintain and curate the digital catalog as processes are added and/or changed to current business needs.
  • Apply engineering principles & analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve business processes and performance
  • Ensure engineering outputs (tools, measurement, reporting, etc.) fully align to and drive business processes and business plan success
  • Mentor and develop critical skill sets of Business Process Engineering Specialists
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on transportation industry practices, freight business operations, and FXF enterprise systems.
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Perform other duties as required
