About The Position

The Business Operations Manageris responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring customer satisfaction,and driving continual improvement across business units. This role managesadministrative and client relations functions, sets standards, supervisesstaff, and collaborates with other departments to achieve company goals. Themanager plays a critical role in closing deals with prospective customers,improving retention rates, and fostering excellence in executing company corevalues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma orGED required; additional education or experience in business operationspreferred.
  • 2-3 years of supervisoryexperience.
  • Proficiency in MicrosoftOffice (Outlook, Word, Excel); experience with CRM, CalMapp, Sage, Bowler, NewAccount Dashboard, Wild, and RDB preferred.
  • Strong leadership,interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent organizationalskills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to workefficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong problem-solvingand judgment skills.
  • Commitment to continualimprovement, risk management, and safety.

  • Experience in acalibration lab or similar technical environment is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams by providing guidance, settingstandards, and communicating expectations to achieve company goals.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control activitiesof business units, implementing policies, goals, objectives, and procedures inline with corporate direction.
  • Oversee facilities, security, mail distribution,record management, and other office support services.
  • Monitor budgets for contracts, equipment, andsupplies; analyze costs and production results; prepare budget reports andfinancial forecasts.
  • Support and implement organizational process andpolicy changes.
  • Manage and coordinate administrative supportservices, including sales support and office operations.
  • Ensure work is completed on time and to customersatisfaction.
  • Oversee quote activity across various servicetypes (Sales, Calibration, ESL Testing, Onsite), ensuring thorough monitoring from inception to follow-up and successful deal closure.
  • Identify, track, and qualify potential businessfor new customer bases; help create and implement short- and long-term goalsfor target industry-specific accounts.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Purchasing and Salesteams to manage open orders and explore alternative options when substitutionsare possible.
  • Analyze performance data (e.g., bowler charts)to assess and improve retention rates for house accounts.
  • Utilize customer concern logs to track andresolve customer issues, improving overall service.
  • Present relevant information regarding customeractivity in meetings (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly).
  • Select, develop, andevaluate personnel to ensure efficient operation of support functions.
  • Supervise administrativestaff and activities related to providing products and services.
  • Prepare staff workschedules, prioritize and assign duties, and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Oversee employee safetyand ensure compliance with company safety policies; schedule and provide safetytraining as needed.
  • Perform general officeduties such as answering phones, filing, typing, and supporting officeefficiencies.
  • Assist with procurementactivities and work order processing.
  • Manage relationships withoutside company partnerships.
  • Clean, organize, andmaintain work areas; request and order supplies as needed.
