About The Position

As a Business Operations Associate, you will play a critical role in analyzing our sales performance, monitoring operating and order lifecycle metrics, tracking financial contribution and profitability by business line and deal, and supporting broader strategic initiatives. You will serve as a key partner to the Senior Manager, Business Operations and our leadership team (Sales, Finance, Operations) and assist in building the data-driven foundation for growth and scale. You'll help translate raw data into strategic insights, build dashboards, and prepare high-impact presentations for executive leadership and the board of directors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Analytics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in business operations, strategy, or analytics roles, ideally in a marketplace, B2B SaaS, or logistics-related company
  • Excellent analytical skills - comfortable diving deep into data, running SQL, building models, and translating insights into action
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, modeling, scenario analyses)
  • Excellent presentation skills: able to build clear, visually compelling slide decks that communicate key insights to senior leadership
  • High attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and strong organizational skills
  • Experience in a fast-moving and dynamic startup environment

Responsibilities

  • Track, analyze and report on key operating metrics across the business, including, but not limited to: sales funnel, deal volume / velocity, conversion rates, average deal size, segment performance, inventory sell-through, and other business KPIs
  • Support the monitoring and reporting of financial metrics, such as: revenue by business line, gross margin, contribution margin, deal-level profitability, fixed vs. variable cost breakdowns, and other KPIs that inform business health and scalability
  • Build and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and regular performance reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to enable transparency and rapid decision-making by leadership
  • Conduct detailed deal-level analyses, including: contribution by deal type, buyer / seller segment, and inventory category; flag improvement opportunities
  • Identify operational bottlenecks, process inefficiencies or data-gaps and propose improvements
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity and consistency; work with data and engineering teams to refine data pipelines, correct data issues and ensure the business has trusted analytics
  • Support strategic initiatives across the revenue and operations teams, including deal lifecycle efficiency and improvements, new growth opportunities, and cost savings efforts - owning the modeling and ROI analyses
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Ghost's sales, operations, finance, automation, product, and engineering teams to align on tracking, data integrity, process improvements, and operational execution
  • Prepare materials for executive leadership and board meetings, including the building of slides and data analyses with clear output
  • Help define and maintain operating governance around metrics: setting targets, defining success criteria, building playbooks and ensuring leadership uses data to drive decisions
