We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Business Operations Lead to support all aspects of business development and capture operations across the organization in Reston, Virginia. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all business development data — primarily within Salesforce — while orchestrating process alignment and coordination across BD, capture, and proposal teams. This individual will serve as the operational backbone of the Growth organization, enabling leadership to make data-driven decisions through transparent, high-quality pipelines, dashboards, and reporting. The ideal candidate brings a blend of operational rigor, system expertise (especially Salesforce), and cross-functional communication skills.

  • Data Governance & Quality Own the integrity and accuracy of all Salesforce BD/Capture records and pipelines.
  • Define, enforce, and continuously improve data entry standards and QA/QC processes.
  • Lead regular audits and resolve data anomalies to maintain a trustworthy pipeline.
  • Salesforce Management & Optimization Serve as the primary Salesforce point of contact for the BD/Capture function.
  • Partner with Salesforce Admins/IT to drive enhancements, workflows, and reporting capabilities tailored to the growth lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and automation to streamline capture management.
  • Operational Oversight Works closely with the VP, Growth and VP, Capture to establish review cadence and rigor, key growth metrics and monitors the execution of the BAP.
  • Establish and manage routines for pipeline reviews, gate reviews, and data hygiene cadences.
  • Lead coordination across BD Leads, Capture Managers, and Proposal Managers to ensure timely updates and process compliance.
  • Manage intake and prioritize tool and process improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for ensuring, managing, and overseeing all data quality supporting Growth pipeline.
  • Team Enablement & Training Train new and existing staff on Salesforce best practices and BD operational processes.
  • Serve as a resource for troubleshooting BD/Capture operations issues.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, process discipline, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensures the integrated workflow across the Growth functions is efficient including problem solving issues that span multiple functions Reporting & Executive Support
  • Deliver accurate and actionable reports to Growth Leadership, Sector Presidents, and Executives.
  • Support monthly/quarterly growth reviews, metrics rollups, and strategic BD insights.
  • Sets and oversees the service level expectations for the Growth functions and assists the functions to increase efficiencies throughout the workflow
  • Manages the development, review and actions of the BU and Sector gate reviews and ensures the business unit program management reviews are consistently executed.

  • Proven experience managing cross-functional teams or stakeholder groups in fast-paced growth environments.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead through influence and drive accountability without direct authority.
  • Problem solver for business and management issues that become obstacles against efficient business operations
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM pipeline tool
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI
  • Knowledge of the Business Acquisition Process
  • Master’s or PMP/Lean Six Sigma certification
