This position will serve as a Business Operations Analyst (Admin Officer 2) supporting the Department of Medicine at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. S/he will work directly with the UCSF Director of Finance and Administration (DFA) and the HR and Education Officer in a myriad of activities related to the following roles, 1) HR liaison, 2) business operations office analyst, 3) strategic and operational special projects as assigned. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $29.05 - $53.50 (Hourly Rate). Strong customer service and problem solving skills. Excellent financial and analytical skills – experience working with budgets. Demonstrated strong skills in MS Word (e.g., advanced formatting, mail merge), Outlook (e.g., calendar and task management) and Excel (e.g., multipage spreadsheets with linked formulae, pivot tables) Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and professionally with a diverse group of individuals, both verbally and in writing. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with staff in other functional areas. Ability to analyze complex and non-routine issues, requiring innovative solutions Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes and multiple customers. Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality. Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns, making both good and tough decisions in a timely manner. Detail oriented with ability to proactively follow projects through to completion, working independently without need for close supervision. Demonstrated strong work ethic and reliability Ability to drive or travel to other UCSF locations for meetings, training, errands Self-managing, setting and accomplishing goals and objectives, anticipating and adjusting for problems and obstacles. UCSF experience, including use of Peoplesoft, MyReports, BearBuy, MyExpense and other financial applications. Three to five years academic administrative experience (working in an educational or medical environment), including meeting / event planning and coordinating multiple complex schedules.
