The primary purpose of the position is to provide high level administrative and coordinating functions for the Museums of the Cape Fear and support the Regional Museum Site Manager. The Business Officer serves on the management team for the facility, reviews operational structures/processes, resolves problems, oversees facilities and programming, and reviews and enforces required policies. Position reviews museum priorities, thereby aligning, assigning, and assisting with daily operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or other discipline related to the area of assignment from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressive related experience, one year of which should be in a supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Candidates meet the minimum qualifications of this position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
  • Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 force frequently with or without accommodation.
  • Must be able to work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm with some weekends as required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support and report to the Regional Museum Site Manager.
  • Oversees facilities management.
  • Oversite of programmatic development and execution for the museum.
  • Reviews, updates, and distributes policies and procedures to museum staff.
  • Access operational need in regard to automation, telecommunication, and facility management.
