About The Position

Clarkston Surgery Center is an established ambulatory surgery center (ASC) in operation since 2009. The staff of this ASC are highly-trained professionals, who are committed to creating and working in positive environment. Clarkston Surgery Center provides the highest level of surgical services. The staff works to continuously improve quality and service by focusing on the processes that are important in meeting the needs of patients and their families and physicians on staff at the facility. Clarkston Surgery Center is currently in search of a Business Office Manager . The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 5 years managerial experience in an ASC or similar setting. This person would also be an excellent team leader and be knowledgeable of all business office functions; skilled with understanding, monitoring, and overseeing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate would also be proficient with HR functions, payroll, employee benefits and healthcare financials and possess excellent communication skills. Bachelors in Healthcare or Business Administration is preferred. JOB SUMMARY : Supervision of Business Office Functions, Financial Positions, and Business Offices Employees.

Responsibilities

  • Hire and provide orientation and training to Business Office staff.
  • Evaluate employee job performance, counsel, and discipline as necessary and conducts team meetings.
  • Establish and maintain personnel records.
  • Perform payroll functions.
  • Provides direction and is knowledgeable on all aspects of team functions, including all front- and back-office functions.
  • Responsible for accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Maintain current policies and procedures for the Surgery Center business office.
  • Responsible for the Center's operations within all legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards as it relates to the business office and medical records department.
  • Responsible for all accounts receivable and accounts payable activities and ensure timely cash flow.
  • Responsible for employee benefit programs: interacts with third party benefit firm(s), investment firms and communications with employees.
  • Responsible for banking functions.
  • Responsible for maintenance and performance of computer and phone systems.
  • Responsible for implementing and ensuring that all internal controls are in place to ensure the integrity of financial and accounting information, promote accountability, and prevent fraud.
  • Perform other activities as requested by the Center's Administrator.
  • Assume appropriate operational responsibilities as necessary.
  • Work with other Center employees to ensure smooth and efficient flow of patients through the Center.
  • Monthly and other reporting activities as required.
  • Participate in Center's Performance Improvement / Risk Management and Accreditation teams.
