Requirements

  • Proficiency with personal computers, Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Accuracy is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification through HFMA or AEPAM preferred.
  • Prefer experience in MS4 billing software.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects for revenue cycle management for the facility.
  • Reports essential reports and data utilized for month-end closing.
  • Special projects
  • Understands revenue cycle management, accounts receivable, billing, collections, and payor principles.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, VA, and Managed care insurance policies and proper billing procedures including denial and appeal guidelines.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret journals, financial reports and legal documents with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the community.
  • Maintains a dialog with all third party payors.
  • Assist in establishing policies and procedures as they relate to the financial goals of the facility.
  • Implement and monitor business office procedures and address systematic problems quickly.
  • Review the work quality of department employees in order to facilitate a smooth and efficient work flow.
  • Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to deal with non-verbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phase.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
