About The Position

Job Description The primary purpose of your job position is to direct the accounting functions of the facility in accordance with current acceptable accounting and cost reimbursement principles relating to the long-term care industry. Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the facility’s accounting functions under the supervision of the Business Office Manager. Review the facility’s accounting policies and procedures periodically, at least annually, and make recommendations to the Business Office Manager. Interpret the facility’s accounting policies and procedures to employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc., as necessary. Establish and maintain a system of financial record keeping to include ledgers, recording payments, writing receipts, posting cash journals, prepare and make bank deposits, etc. Qualifications Three (3) years experience in hospital financial administration, or any combination of experience, education, or training which would provide the knowledge required by this position Must have, as a minimum, 1 year(s) experience in health care financial administration. Medicare and Medicaid experience Experience in long term care facility is required Must have working knowledge of bookkeeping or accounting principles, preferably in a healthcare setting to include Medicare, Medicaid and third party billing. Requirements
