About The Position

St. Peter the Apostle Parish, located in Oakland, Maryland, seeks candidates for a Business Manager. The Business Manager reports to the Pastor and is responsible for the efficient and effective stewardship of the temporal goods of the Parish. The Business Manager maintains an in-depth understanding of the Mission of the Catholic Church and the Parish and brings that understanding to bear in all considerations made within the scope of the essential functions listed below. This is a 30 hours per week position with benefits.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in business manager or similar role
  • Full VIRTUS Compliance
  • Financial & Supervisory experience, preferably in a Catholic Parish setting
  • Competency with QuickBooks and AOB Financial Reporting Responsibilities
  • Undergraduate Degree in Finance/Business

  • Master's degree Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage all Office personnel & activities - Office Secretary, Maintenance Supervisor, & Bookkeeper/HR Coordinator.
  • Attend Archdiocese of Baltimore (AOB) Business Manager Zoom Meetings
  • Coordinates with Director of Parish Outreach Center for any facility issues
  • Oversee all parish properties and facilities and work with Facilities Committee for any issues related to upkeep, repair, or improvement to parish properties
  • Monitor all financial statements in Quick Books weekly, work with Bookkeeper to ensure accuracy of parish financial reporting
  • Complete Monthly Financial Report for Parish Council
  • Report line-item monthly financial statements for Finance Committee & meet with Chair and members as requested
  • Develop Annual Budget for submission to Finance Committee and obtain approval from Regional Comptroller
  • Review and approve Payroll Submissions for Office Personnel
  • Other duties as identified by Pastor
