About The Position

The Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking an experienced and motivated candidate to serve as the Business Manager for IDJJ’S IYC Warrenville. The incumbent in this position will perform professional managerial duties in the planning, directing, and coordinating of purchasing, vouchering and supply functions along with payroll. The ideal candidate for this position will be proficient in Microsoft Excel, SAP and/or related systems and will possess previous accounting, and/or bookkeeping/payroll experience along with knowledge of state and/or government accounting laws and regulations. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college with a major in business administration or a related field.
  • Requires two years professional business experience such as might be obtained as a Business Administrative Specialist; or successful completion of a training course approved by the agency.
  • Requires the ability to pass an IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefers extensive knowledge of the fundamental principles of modern business administration.
  • Prefers extensive knowledge of the functions of state government and the employing agency.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of experience contract establishment, contract monitoring and working within the Illinois Procurement Code.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software such as SAP, database management systems such as HANA, SAMS, or other compatible software.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of experience with timekeeping and payroll functions in a business setting.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year of experience with BidBuy or other procurement software.
  • Prefers a Bachelors' Degree in the areas of Business Administration, Business Management, Finance, Economics or Accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Under general direction of the Business Administrator (PSA), performs responsible managerial duties in the planning, directing and coordinating of purchasing, vouchering, and supply functions.
  • Serves as working supervisor.
  • Directs the processing of vendor vouchers for payment of goods and services received by the facility.
  • Serves as backup for other Business Office positions and functions.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
