Job Description Position Summary: The Business Manager for Logic Components is accountable for the overall performance of industrial component product lines, including product planning, portfolio strategy, forecasting, margin management, commercialization, and product lifecycle management. This role drives sustainable growth, profitability, and execution excellence across multiple product families at different lifecycle stages while ensuring strong alignment with the Sensor, Safety and Industrial Control (SIC) business strategy. In this role, you will shape the future of Rockwell Automation's Logic Components portfolio, directly influencing global growth, profitability, and how our customers design and deploy industrial automation solutions. You will lead a high‑impact team, partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations, and translate customer needs into winning portfolio and commercial strategies. The Business Manager reports to the Director, Portfolio & Business Management (Logic Components).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).
  • Ability to travel, including internationally, up to 20% of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of combined experience in Product Management, Product Marketing, Technical Sales, or Business Management.
  • Proven people leadership experience, including team development and performance management.
  • Demonstrated experience owning or influencing commercial outcomes such as pricing, margin, and go‑to‑market strategy.
  • Strong track record leading cross‑functional and cross‑organizational teams.
  • Automation industry experience with control systems and industrial components.
  • Experience supporting platform‑based or system‑level solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Business & Portfolio Ownership Own business performance for assigned Logic Components portfolios, including revenue, margin, and profitability, in close partnership with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Marketing.
  • Develop and execute short‑ and long‑range portfolio strategies aligned with SIC objectives and customer needs.
  • Balance trade‑offs across multiple product families and lifecycle stages to optimize overall business performance.
  • Ensure disciplined product lifecycle management, including product improvements, enhancements, and end‑of‑life decisions.
  • Provide a multi‑year portfolio outlook, identifying risks, opportunities, and required strategic actions..
  • Commercial Leadership Define and execute commercial strategies that drive profitable growth, including pricing, margin improvement, and channel strategies.
  • Partner closely with Sales and Commercial Marketing to strengthen value positioning, improve customer adoption, and enable consistent execution in the field.
  • Lead competitive analysis and develop counter‑strategies to strengthen market position.
  • Drive product promotions, launches, training, and sales enablement activities to achieve revenue and margin objectives.
  • Cross‑Functional & Partner Leadership Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on product implementation plans, cost targets, reliability goals, and execution timelines.
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships with suppliers, third‑party partners, and channel partners to extend portfolio value.
  • Coordinate with Marketing, Sales, Lifecycle Services, and other Rockwell Automation product groups to deliver integrated, customer‑focused solutions.
  • Influence and align cross‑organizational teams without direct authority to drive outcomes.
  • People Leadership Lead and develop a team of seven (7) direct reports, providing clear direction, coaching, performance management, and career development.
  • Build a strong, diverse talent pipeline aligned with short‑ and long‑term business needs.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and disciplined execution.
