About The Position

The Business Manager position provides financial, budgetary, and operations support, budget analysis and oversight, and reporting for the various operational areas for which they are responsible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, and Business or a closely related field or equivalent combination of skills and related experience required.
  • 3 or more years of accounting, finance, or related business experience.
  • Equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to perform statistical analysis and prepare reports.
  • Develop, review, and analyze financial reports to reconcile financial data.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills to formulate and make decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work and conduct research to gather data.
  • Oral/written communication, presentation, and people skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Manage confidential information.
  • Proficiency in the use of Windows PC and Microsoft Office software, in particular Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of Workday software- Financials preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring & Oversight Functions: Manage the day-to-day financial transactions.
  • Support and assist management with business operations.
  • Analyze and review internal controls regularly to identify irregularities and non-compliance to established policies and procedures.
  • Aid management with adherence to budgetary and internal control procedures.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers on department operations.
  • Budgetary Support Functions: Manage the operational budget, including accounting, and auditing of funds and accounts.
  • Prepare and monitor annual department and project budgets, interim financial projections, results of operations and budget to actual reports.
  • Identify, analyze, and communicate material deviations from approved budgets to the appropriate administrative authority.
  • Utilize analytics and statistical data to develop trend analyses and financial forecasts of departmental budgets.
  • Financial Analysis Functions: Compile and prepare financial data for internal and external reporting and compliance.
  • Maintain daily, monthly, and yearly financial reporting and processing requirements as defined by the Controller’s office.
  • Other Functions: Function as Accountability Officer for duties related to asset management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
