About The Position

Business Manager - Enterprise Consumer Product Strategy & Analytics We are looking for an exceptional and innovative individual to join Capital One's Enterprise Consumer Product Strategy team that is defining and leading the company’s transformation into a great information and software company. As a Business Manager for this high impact team, you will focus on raising the bar for credit risk management of our digital products and platforms (Capital One mobile app, website, marketing tech stack, consumer identity, consumer data, etc.), combining credit risk analysis with product strategy to enable our products to continue delivering great value to our customers in a well managed way. In addition there will be opportunities to shape overall strategy and analyze in-market products to find new areas for investment. This team thinks strategically about our customers’ holistic digital and financial engagement while exploring product improvements and new product ideas. This position will afford the right candidate extraordinary opportunities to push forward Capital One’s digital transformation, creating new opportunities at the intersection of technology and financial services. This is a high-impact and rewarding strategy and analysis role, where you get to work with some of the most forward-leaning and innovative leaders in the industry to define our company’s future direction. An ideal candidate for this role is constantly seeking to understand the nuance of our customers’ behavior and needs, excels in isolating signals from noise and communicating complex concepts in compelling and actionable ways to senior audiences, and adept at thinking through credit implications of key product and messaging decisions.

Requirements

  • Experience in credit thinking, deep analytics, and strategic storytelling within Capital One.
  • Best-in-class analytical capabilities: top-notch quantitative, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills (including Google Slides).
  • High motivation and self-direction, taking personal ownership for results and professional development.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to prioritize, thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
  • At least 2 years in quantitative analysis

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in analysis
  • 2+ years of experience in market research
  • 2+ years of experience in SQL querying

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement analytical credit frameworks to monitor and optimize the concrete impact our initiatives are having on key business results
  • Assess key credit risks and opportunities within our products and platforms.
  • Shape governance programs that impact and add rigor throughout the entire organization.
  • Drive and support a range of strategic initiatives, partnering with both business, technology, product, and marketing stakeholders.
  • Identify and analyze various data sources to understand customers’ behaviors and needs.
  • Package strategic and analytical insights into clear, concise and “executive-ready” presentations.
  • Communicate findings to senior management and to the broader organization, influencing upwards and laterally to drive organizational change and alignment.
  • Ensure that our recommendations are driven through to implementation, by providing thought leadership and, when necessary, stepping in to lead execution.
