About The Position

Responsible for setting the strategic direction, organization, management and implementation of a comprehensive business, finance, and operations model for the Elementary School. Oversees other department management and planning functions such as management of operational staff, grant development, community based organization networking, and facility enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree minimum
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, accounting, or a related field preferred. Five (5) or more years of experience in financial and operational management in an educational setting. Extensive experience working with complex accounting systems, databases and spreadsheets.

  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive, sustainable budget with input from leadership, incorporating all available funds and appropriate disbursements
  • Maintain complete and accurate financial records, ensuring timely processing of accounts payable/receivable, purchasing, journal entries, reconciliations, and related reports
  • Prepare and present financial information and required reports in collaboration with the Director and School Financial Partners
  • Oversee department contracts with vendors and partner organizations, ensuring compliance and proper billing practices
  • Supervise and train staff responsible for financial activities, providing technical guidance on bookkeeping and financial procedures
  • Support staffing processes by assisting leadership with hiring and resource allocation for department positions
  • Develop sustainability plans for grant-funded programs and pursue additional funding opportunities
  • Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and security of financial records, promptly reporting exceptions or violations to the supervisor
  • Build effective working relationships across district departments and implement targeted communication strategies for students, parents, and the community
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies
  • Perform other related duties, as requested
