About The Position

The Business Intelligence Specialist is part of a collaborative team responsible for driving success and profitability by delivering data-driven services to customers. This role involves defining BI initiatives, gathering requirements, designing visual analytics, partnering with IT, developing code, creating documentation, and deploying and maintaining applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in business intelligence or data analytics.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret information.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Ability to sit, walk, or stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Must possess visual acuity to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to conduct physical tasks with a full range of motion throughout the warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lift/carry items up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze diverse data sources and documentation; organize findings into cohesive, actionable formats.
  • Design and develop data visualizations using QlikView and Spotfire.
  • Identify and define technical and functional requirements, resources, and processes.
  • Create specifications, deployment plans, system manuals, and other technical documentation.
  • Follow project management and software development processes to improve product and service quality.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries; prepare reports and analyses using tools such as Cognos, Spotfire, QlikView, and R.
  • Provide application maintenance and enhancement support.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing and produce supporting documentation.
  • Facilitate design review sessions with analysts and stakeholders across departments.
  • Ensure data validity and reliability for accurate reporting.
  • Test new application and system features for performance and usability.
  • Maintain and update documentation for BI systems and processes.
